Event Information

A comprehensive event guide will be posted out to all riders during September in their rider packs, along with laminated bike numbers and route cards. In the meantime, we thought a quick summary of what the event has to offer might be handy.

The Autumn Epic is a European-style cyclosportive, starting in Knighton in Welsh Marches, and taking you through the superb scenery of the ancient county of Radnorshire. As the winner of the Best UK Cyclosportive award in 2007*, the Autumn Epic is the perfect way to round off your season and make great use of that summer fitness!

• Comprehensively and clearly way-marked route (we will be putting out well in excess of 200 route arrows).
• Detailed route cards as backup (and to drool over in advance)
• Electronic timing with splits
• Individual times available immediately at the event centre. Full results list published here within 24 hours.
• Two lavishly stocked feeding stations on the route
• Broom wagon, mechanics and 1st aid
• Supported by the National Motorcycle Escort Group
• Photos of all riders available for purchase on the web
• Stylish souvenir cycling jersey in technical fabric available for £39 (must be ordered by August 1st)
• Gold, Silver and Bronze standards will be awarded with certificates at the finish
• New for 2008: A quality Goody Bag – none of your usual leaflets and not much else!
• Lovely Clif bars for all riders.
• New for 2008: A free hot meal at the finish for all riders courtesy of the famous Wilf's Cafe
• Changing, toilets and ample parking.
• New for 2008: One lucky finisher will be drawn out of the hat and receive a 2009 Viner carbon frameset. As bike suppliers to the number one Fondo team in Italy, Viner are experts in sportive bikes - so the lucky winner will have a great piece of kit ready for next season!
