Accommodation
Knighton is a key stop on the Offa's Dyke long distance footpath, so there is plenty of accommodation on offer.
The best source of information is the Offas Dyke Association website, as Knighton's own tourist site is still being developed.
Knighton is bang on the border between Powys in Wales and Shropshire in England, and only a short journey from the town of Ludlow. As Ludlow has become a mecca for food lovers it also has a good supply of accommodation within easy reach of the event centre. The Ludlow Tourist Office site lists nearly 70 places to stay within or around the town.
There are a couple of general accommodation sites that might be useful too:

The Baron of Beef welcomes cyclists and has some accommodation and camping. There is also The Old Station Caravan and Camping Park in New Radnor which is only 8 miles away.
Travel
We could give a list of driving directions from various locations, but you will be much better off using Google Maps to generate tailor-made instructions. To give you an idea of travel times, we have a few sample Google Map routes below:
Birmingham to Knighton
London to Knighton
Cardiff to Knighton
If you want to travel by train there is a line running between Shrewsbury and Swansea that stops at Knighton. However this does not run on Sundays, so you would need to come down on the Saturday and return on the Monday - or stay longer and make a holiday of it! Details are one the Network Rail website. |
